The unique sightseeing potential of the region is due to a multiplicity of its historical monuments and its untainted natural environment.

Many tourist routes of both leisure and educational character can be found in the region. The most attractive ones are the “Royal Highway” pedestrian and bicycle route between Przasnysz and Chorzele connecting Mazovian and Mazury regions, as well as a number of routes going from the town of Przasnysz towards Przejma, Ostrołęka, Krasne - Opinogóra and Rostkowo. Another major tourist attraction are canoeing rallies down the Omulew river. The canoe rental in Zaręby lets equipment for even a few days' long trips. For a change, one may also travel across the district by narrow-gauge rail or opt for "horse-riding vacation" organised in Krzynowłoga Mała, Krasne or in the town of Przasnysz.

A number of sports clubs in Przasnysz District enable young people to practice various sports disciplines such as soccer, cycling or karate. There is also a motocross race-course in Mchowo. Moreover, the district also has got an airport which is also the seat of the “Northern Mazovia Aviation Club”.

Not far away from Przasnysz one can also find a village of Rostkowo, which is a centre of religious cult of St. Stanisław Kostka - a spot famous both in Poland and worldwide and visited by thousands of pilgrims each year.
